You have already figured out my name is Maria Carr.
I love life! I can find something positive in almost any situation, in fact, I have been told that I am “annoyingly optimistic”!
I’m passionate about many things, most of all my family, my greatest joy. Nothing is more fun than playing with my grandchildren.
Other things that bring me joy: dancing, especially to Latin music in Zumba classes led by my son, Skyler. I also love bright colors, Latin music, sunlight, flowers, summer, and the beach! Reading, Yoga, meditation, cooking healthy food, and gardening help me stay balanced.
I love people, and I enjoy learning each person’s unique story.
I have been performing in film and television for decades. I have also produced and directed. I believe media is a marvelous tool that allows us to see beyond our own experience.
I am passionate about art, when I see an art object my first thought is: “how can I create/interpret that”.
And I love to learn, especially about health and anything to do with Cuba, where I was born. When I was a teenager, my family was fortunate enough to escape communism and come to the US, for freedom.
I attended Florida State University and later graduated from Brigham Young University in Theatre and Film. At BYU I met my wonderful husband. We have 5 children, 4 in-law-children, 9 grandchildren and a very sweet little dog.
